Co-founder of Black Heron Tattoo, Phil has over 10 years of tattooing experience and specialises in black and grey, colour dotwork, illustration, and pattern work tattoos. He also takes on other styles for his clients, always executed to a high level of precision and creativity.

Originally from the West Midlands, Ben learnt to tattoo while living on the south coast of the UK. A passionate collector of tattoos, he enjoys immersing himself in the history and culture of the tattoo industry. Inspired by Japanese, American Traditional, and Blackwork, Ben is drawn to bold, striking imagery and the idea of transforming the body by permanently wearing these art forms on the skin.

Since completing her apprenticeship in 2021, Martha has explored a wide range of tattoo styles — from colourful, American Traditional–inspired designs to delicate black and grey pieces. She loves to tattoo anything bold and bright, particularly florals and animals, and enjoys seeking out new ideas and techniques to perfect her craft. Martha draws inspiration from fine art and nature, always striving to bring her clients’ visions to life.

Ams discovered her passion for tattooing around the age of 13, heavily influenced by Japanese culture and art through her father. She began her apprenticeship at 18 and has been refining her craft ever since. Her work draws on traditional Suikoden Ukiyo-e prints, Noh and Kabuki theatre, and Yokai folklore — blending heritage with evolution. Over time, Ams’ style has softened into brushstroke lines and painterly shading, honouring traditional foundations while expressing her own artistic direction.

With over 10 years of tattooing experience, Kerie has explored many different styles but has found her passion in black and grey. Whether fine-line realism or bold traditional pieces with smooth shading, her focus is always on depth and detail. She also loves tattooing animal portraits and custom script work. A creative at heart, Kerie has explored painting, engraving, and pyrography — but tattooing remains her true love, both for the art itself and the community that surrounds it.

Fiona began her journey as a body piercer here at Black Heron Tattoo. With a gentle touch and calming presence, she ensures every client feels comfortable throughout the piercing process — from first appointment to aftercare. Fiona stocks a variety of jewellery to help each person find the perfect piece, believing the best part of her work is that moment when someone feels confident and beautiful with their new piercing.
